Mayleigh Carvana (she/her) is an undergraduate at Agnes Scott College, Class of 2025.
Pursuing an English: Creative Writing major and a Studio Art minor, her writing includes works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Creating visual art content has been a progressive content in her life from a young age, however, Carvana’s writing journey had fully taken flight within the Agnes Scott community. Becoming a writer had been an unexpected, yet welcomed journey. During the second semester of her first year, Carvana took her first creative writing (multigenre) class, and claimed her major the following year. Her skills had mainly been developed in her first two years of courses, excelling in Multigenre, Poetry, and Nonfiction classes. Although Carvana does not subscribe to a specific genre of writing, she does enjoy writing lyrical stories.
“I find I work best in between the borders of reality and imaginary, where I present visually immersive written pieces.”.
Out of all of the written works Hydrophilic and “Rose–tint” have been the most well-received by audiences in and outside the classroom.
All the written pieces can be found under the “writing portfolio” section of the portfolio tab.
The following are revised works of essays, short stories, and poems that were created during her time at Agnes Scott.
